What measures are you taking to ensure you don't spread Covid-19?

What measures are you taking to ensure you don't spread Covid-19?

We take our hygiene very seriously and take the utmost care while preparing your meals. We sanitise and clean down the work space frequently. We also take social distancing very seriously and apart from collecting our produce, we are not going on any unnecessary social outings.  We check our temperature at the start of every day to ensure we are healthy and safe. We drop food off to your door and wave a hello from the fence so as to not come into close contact with any of our lovely customers.

Do you make everything from scratch or are there some nasty additives hidden inside?

Do you make everything from scratch or are there some nasty additives hidden inside?

Not an additive in sight. All of our food, be it sauces, curries or salad dressings are all made from scratch ensuring we know exactly what goes in our food. Just the way we would like to feed ourselves, and so we keep this philosophy for our customers also. Note that we don't make our own mustard or olive oil but we buy all organic and preservative free.

If I have a nut allergy can I still eat your yummy food?

Yes you can, we are more than happy to leave out any nuts that may be part of the dish you order but please be aware that there could be traces of nuts in the kitchen where we work.

Will the food be hot or fridge temperature?

After cooking, the food will be cooled and transported at fridge temperature.

It can then be warmed up and eaten right then and there or kept in the fridge or freezer for a later date.

Is your food spicy?

Is your food spicy?

We don’t put any chilli in our dishes. Our food is not inherently spicy although we do have loads of great spices in our curries and sauces but we leave the hot part for you. We have home made chilli sauce for those who like to give their food a kick!

What time will you be delivering?

What time will you be delivering?

We will deliver between 3pm-6.30pm each Wednesday and will send out a

text message when we are on our way.

Will you deliver to my door?

Will you deliver to my door?

We do. All of our orders will be dropped to your door in the afternoon each Wednesday to make the middle of the week as exciting as possible. If you will not be at home during this time we request that you leave a cooler bag or Esky at the drop off point so we can leave the food with an ice pack to stay cold for your return. If you don’t leave a cooler bag we will have a limited number with us, however using your own is preferred.

Please note that your food will stay at a safe temperature for only a certain period of time, so please keep this in mind as once the food has been dropped off it will be in your care to refrigerate or freeze as you so desire.

What area will you deliver to?

What area will you deliver to?

At this point in time we are considering the best way to get to you all. We have had to limit our delivery range to the inner northern suburbs, roughly a 7km radius from Northcote to begin with, as well as any suburbs we pass through on our way from Lilydale down to Melbourne. However please don’t be shy to write to us if you are considering ordering, let us know your location and we can see if we can make it out your way. We have been extending our range every week.

Once social distancing passes, we will look into a Melbourne based pick up point.

Can you cater to my dietary requirement?

Can you cater to my dietary requirement?

We will do our best to cater for all your needs however we cannot guarantee that all our dishes are able to be adjusted. Please leave us an email or contact us via the website to see if your request can be met.

Can I really freeze the containers and once defrosted put them in the oven or microwave?

Yes! We are using Bio-Pak which is a plastic and tree free takeaway container that ticks all the boxes. They have a great seal and are freezer, microwave and oven safe. They can be heated in the oven and microwave up to 220 Degrees C.

Do the containers really go in the compost or torn up under the fruit tree?

Oh yeah baby! They definitely do. They would even make great spring seedling trays to then plant directly into the ground. Get creative.

What if I don’t have a compost bin or a garden but don't want to throw the packaging in the bin?

We highly recommend starting a small compost at your place, get together with neighbours and make something together perhaps (once we are able to be a little more social).

Bio-Pak have set up a community compost pick up service, only for businesses at this stage, but I'm sure they will expand over time.

We dream of a day when festivals, events and house parties all use these little gems. Imagine no washing up after a house party with a guilt free conscience. Read more about Bio-Pak’s compost service here.
